Background

"Approved Collector" or "Approved System"

Many people are confused by the "NRCan list of approved collectors" and assume that it means "system".  System refers to all of the components assembled in a way to meet the new CSA standard. The purpose of an approved system is to ensure safety and durability so that consumers get years of trouble free service from their solar system. Reading in the NRCan website you will find that they expect to have the CSA standard as a requirement for funding in about 2 years (2010).

At the request of the solar industry, CSA created a standard for "domestic solar water heating systems". The process took over four years and involved engineers and technical staff from CSA, Bodycote, Cansia, NRCan and the solar industry. They met monthly and looked at 30 years of problems and failures in the solar hot water industry to create a standard that new systems should meet.

Nearing completion on the testing, the Copperhill system is an excellent choice if you are looking for a reliable system.

Using the CSA standard, we created our solar operating system (patent pending). Copperhill is the first company with a complete "evacuated tube system" to be involved in the CSA program for this purpose.

Our Dealers and Sales People

Starting in March 2003, Copperhill developed a distributor and dealer network across Canada. Most of our dealers are licensed plumbers with several employees. Others are general contaractors. They are already successful in their work and joined our company to become professional in solar thermal without risking their excellent reputations. We have distributors and dealers across Canada with many installations in over 32 cities. All Copperhill distributors, dealers and sales people use the Copperhill™ system in their own home or business. Several sales people started out as customers.

With experience installing solar thermal, solar electric and wind mills we now focus entirely on Solar hot water. Customer demand is almost always cost reduction and solar hot water provides the best payback. We have systems for any hot or warm water application including domestic and industrial hot water, process and space heating. Our operating system is designed using parts available locally to any North American plumber. Our customers include motel, restaurant, car wash and laundry operators along with home owners  and industrial operations to name just a few.

There are good federal and provincial incentives available. We can look after the application process for government funding for you. There is no additional charge for this service.
